Sierra Leone Story

The Sierra Leone Story project spans almost 40,000 words and brings together the experiences of fifty-two storytellers. The series challenges negative narratives of Sierra Leone persistent in mass media by featuring community members from a variety of backgrounds. N6URI Photography partnered with Sierra Leonean run and operated studios to print portraits for storytellers at no cost to them.

About Nouri

N6URI Photography

I photograph people and places with dignity and respect in mind. My work takes me around the world, but the African continent and its infinite diversity holds a special place in my heart. Let's work together to counter stereotypes.

I've worked with The World Bank Group

by providing art for an auction supporting their Community Connections program⠀—⠀"Through the Community Connections program, we [help] in our own communities via corporate philanthropy, volunteerism, in-kind donations, and an internship program for students."

and Schools for Salone

by submitting photos for their 2020 Calendar⠀—⠀"The 2020 Schools for Salone Calendar features stunning photos taken by photographers who have lived, visited, or worked in the close-knit communities of Mama Salone"
